The New Queen Must Be Laying


Such a loud hum came from my favorite cherry tree yesterday that I thought I had a swarm on my hands. But on this sunny spring morning the bees were only happily collecting food for their babies. Like the forager pictured here, all the bees buzzing around my head had heavy loads of pollen on their legs.

  1. Lovely! I have plans afoot with tyres staggered up over a mound on the lawn, and nice thgins like bergamot, calendula and borage in the gaps between tyres to attract the bees and hopefully distract the butterflies from the brassicas. But hanging baskets! Hadn’t thought of that
